The Labouchere system, also called the cancellation system or split martingale, is a gambling strategy used in roulette. The user of such a strategy decides before playing how much money they want to win, and writes a list of positive numbers which amounts to a predetermined amount. With each bet, the player bets an amount equal to the sum of the first and last numbers in the list. If only one number is left, that number is the number of pegs. If the bet is successful, two amounts will be deleted from the list. If a bet is unsuccessful, the missing amount is added to the end of the list. This process continues until the list is crossed out entirely, at which point the desired amount of money has been won, or until the player runs out of money to bet.
It must be mentioned that the Labouchere System is intended to be applied to Roulette flat money propositions such as Even / Odd, Red / Black or 1-18 / 19-36. When one of these batches is made in a Roulette game, the round produces “0” or “00” resulting in a loss, so even if the payment is money, the odds are definitely not 50/50. The Labouchère system seeks to offset this opportunity.
Consider the following list:
10 10 20 20 20 10 10
If a player bets black and loses four times in a row, the total bet is: $ 20, $ 30, $ 40, and $ 50. By taking these four successive defeats, the player has lost $ 140 and bet $ 60 more on the next bet . Consecutive losses, or the number of coordinated losses to win can also cause the table limit to come into play.
How it works
In the Labouchère system we choose what we want to win say $ 10 and write a list of numbers with that amount
1 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 10
You bet the first and last amount with your winnings deleting this number, with your loss adding to the amount at the end of the list
Let's look at an example
You can adjust your levels of risk and reward with a longer sequence / higher numbers and include zeros too. This makes the system a lot safer.
If you use different payout you need to adjust the list like if betting higher payout you need to divide the list , if betting at lower payout you need to multiply the list. (Es. x10 payout =llist / 10 ; x1.1 =list x 11 )
